Apologies for not posting last week. Last Friday I was on the road – driving back from Exeter after a very pleasant visit to Rev. Master Myfanwy at Dragon Bell Temple. Rev. Master Phoebe from Pine Mountain Buddhist Temple in Southern California was also at Dragon Bell for a brief visit. The three of us spent many years training together at Throssel Hole Buddhist Abbey and we enjoyed catching up with each other.
On Monday last week I was taken out to lunch by a Sangha friend and his partner who came to visit and to bring me a donation of Buddhist books and beautifully framed pictures, which are illustrating this post and have transformed the blank walls in the main room here – thank you so much J.
Monday this week saw the arrival of Rev. Master Mugo, one of the trustees of this charity, to stay for a few days and see the Hermitage in its new location. Rev. Mugo helped me hang the new pictures and spent a day working on the courtyard, planting sweet peas that Rev. Myfanwy had given me, plus some runner beans, and creating a new setting for the outside altar. Once it stops raining I will take a photo, maybe for next week’s post. I greatly appreciate her companionship and support.
Tomorrow, Saturday 9th, I am joining Rev. Aiden at Turning Wheel Buddhist Temple in Leicester to celebrate Wesak, the Ceremony of the Buddha’s Birth.
After all the to-ing and fro-ing of the last two weeks I am looking forward to staying put next week and starting work on the charity’s annual accounts. Yes, I actually do like doing accounts.
