June 2016

I have changed the date of the day retreat in June to Sunday 12th. This is because the weekend of the 17th to 19th is the Celebrating Cromford weekend and there will be lots of activities going on in the village – including an open-air church service on Sunday morning and an RAF Spitfire and Hurricane fly-past on Sunday afternoon – so it probably won’t be terribly quiet!

SL380842One of the regular features is the installation of the Wishing Pigs in the old pigsty across the yard from the Hermitage. The pigs are made of papier-mâché and the idea is that children can write out wishes and hang them around the pigsty for the pigs to grant.

Click here to find out more about the festival. I’ll be around that weekend and enjoying some of the fun so let me know if you’re planning to come and maybe we can meet up for tea and cake.

Your village festival sounds awesome and so highly original & artistic. Wish I could experience it, but alas, I live an ocean away! Thanks for sharing some of the highlights in your blog.

Hello Jessica, shame you live too far away to come for a cup of tea with me, it would be lovely to meet you, I really appreciate your interest and support.
